In the following year, the company inaugurated its Global Parts Centre. In 2013, Hero MotoCorp laid the foundation of the Neemrana production facility. In the same year, the company rebranded and changed its name to Hero MotoCorp as it expanded into foreign markets. 2011 was a significant year for Hero Honda when the final licensing agreement was signed between Hero Group and Honda Motor. In 2007 Hero Honda achieved the milestone of producing over 20 million units. 2005 was the year when Hero Honda ventured into the scooter segment with the launch of ‘Pleasure’. In the 2000s, Hero Honda would climb new heights with the launch of new models such as ‘Passion’ and ‘Pleasure’ while older models such as ‘Splendor’ continued their run. 1994 was the year when Hero Honda launched ‘Splendor’ which goes on to become one of the best selling motorcycles in the country. In the following years, Hero Honda continued to expand its production capacity and came out with newer models such as ‘Sleek’. By 1987, the company produced its 100,000th motorcycle. A year later, Hero Honda would roll out its first motorcycle, CD100. In 1984, Hero Honda Motors Limited was incorporated. The story of Hero MotorCorp dates back to 1983 when Ludhiana-based bicycle firm Hero Cycles and Japanese two-wheeler major Honda Motor signed a joint agreement to manufacture 100 cc motorcycles in India. The company is headquartered in New Delhi. Hero MotorCorp is among India’s leading two wheeler manufacturers.
